What is Math? Math is a language, a tool, a way of looking at the universe and an expression of the universe itself. It's about communication, information, systems, networks. It’s about representation, understanding, ideas, and so much more. Math is everywhere, whether we realize it or not. It impacts us all, whether we realize it or not.
We discuss the universe using math. We do it whether we realize it or not. The universe has so many components to it, so many mysteries, and components. With math, we try to make sense of it all. Essentially, we interpret the universe, we make observations about it, we make predictions about it, we can also deduce what happened or may have happened in the past. We make rules, definitions, we observe properties. We compose sentences, we write essays.
We use math everyday, whether we are technical about it or not. We can and do use skills from it, whether we know that. We also build up our communication and analytical skills. If I had to give a brief answer/summary though, I’d say math is the language we use to talk about the universe in, as well as its past, its presence, its future and so much more. It is a gateway to infinity and beyond!
