Test Anxiety Tips

1. Relaxing an hour or so before an exam/quiz.

2. Study more the day or days before the test, and less on the day of the test.

If you study the day of the test, then keep things more focused. The focus being key points, useful formulas, and things you struggle with.

3. If you show up early, maybe wait outside for a bit to avoid people talking about the test, and focus in on the test.

4.  Answer questions you know first. This will help build your confidence, and give you a good start, while reserving more time for tougher questions.

5. Reading questions on the exam carefully. Breaking it down, so to speak, writing that if need be.

Time Management (Focus - Study Time)

1.Evaluate the time you can and are willing to devote to studying for a class, breaking up that time further.

  • For example, if maybe for a given a class if you spend an hour on studying that, maybe take a half hour to carefully go over the material, writing things down, and understanding notes, and then another half an hour to practice the material.

  • You could also have a mission for studying that day, if studying after a break is difficult. Times can vary and you know how you work better than anyone else.

  • And when you do the understanding portion, try to take time and digest what you read.

  • Break it down to yourself, and if need be, others, as that sort of thing can help. Go in there with a plan. Then eventually evaluate your skills and how you absorbed the info.

2. Imposing limits on how much you want to study for a class.

3. Look at what is due well ahead of schedule keep track and stay ahead of the game.

4. Reward yourself for sticking with your plans at certain intervals. Gamify things if need be. View sticking to things as a game, and try to beat your old score.

Motivation

1. For classes you're struggling in, try to find the good in them, re-contextualize them. Figure out how they can benefit you. How do they relate to your field of interest or your life?

2. Find out something about them that it is interesting or useful.Perhaps talk to your teacher, at an appropriate time or email them.

People like talking about things they are passionate about, and perhaps that interest can spark something in you, maybe it could drive you even further.

3. Approach things positively, with an attitude of you can do this! If you don't think you can, you won't.

4. Seek out inspirational stories. Even if you are aware of the great things you can do, sometimes people can fire you up. We have some amazing people in this world.
