Mathematicians Are Not Gods...Dun...Dun...Dun...

I like rediscovering things I said in the past and see how well that lines up with what I think now. The only things I would add are that I draw a distinction between math as a whole and math in the academic sense. We're all mathematicians.

What people do academically and professionally when it comes to math is refining what we do naturally and trying to communicate things better. The math is there whether we are in school or not, whether we call deal with math professionally or not. That being said, I'll put my old words below and I'll add my logic and creativity video below.

We mathematicians get treated with a god like reverence sometimes. We aren't gods, we're just people that are good at a particular thing. We are good at other things but we chose this.

This is the path we chose to walk but you too can do math. Don't have a math mind? That isn't actually a thing. I know many disagree, but that doesn't make them actually right.

Logic and creativity come together quite nicely in math. Proving a point, solving an equation, they are nothing with communication. Everything is connected, and you can do more than you thought. We all learn different, and are taught different. Whatever your background, you're more capable than you realize.

My name is Jordan and I'm a mathematician. I have zero doubt that everyone has the capability to do what I do. Go forth and rock. Go forth and do math.
